Memory and Learning Explorations

Author(s): Barbara Tharp, Judith Dresden, and Nancy Moreno.
Memory and Learning Explorations

Memory and Learning Explorations is an extension of the unit’s classroom activities. For instance, the cover activity challenges students to take a simple memory test. Articles within the Explorations magazine discuss experience, learning, and different types of memory. The magazine also includes a memorization puzzle and an interview with a neuroscientist, who explains his choice of careers.

Explorations is an integrated component of the Memory and Learning unit. It also may be used as a stand-alone reading/language arts resource, or may be taken home to share with others. Though designed for use with students in grades 3–5, the magazine also may be appropriate for students in grade 6.
