The Math Link: Global Change

Supplemental math activities integrated with the storybook Mr. Slaptail's Curious Contraption. Students problem solve with measurements (amounts, weights, temperatures), patterns (time), and fraction word problems, solve basic addition problems, learn to use a graph to solve problems, use mapping skills, identify and group shapes, estimate measurements, and use grids to learn about and compare area and perimeter.
The Math Link: Global Change is an integrated component of the Global Change curricular unit but may also may be used alone with the storybook Mr. Slaptail's Curious Contraption as a set of integrated reading and math activities.
These worksheets may be used with a broad range of grade levels. They are most appropriate for use with students in grades 3–5.
