Comparing Sizes of Microorganisms
Companion slide set to the video demonstration, "Comparing Sizes of Microorganisms," showing how best to teach the lesson of the same name. Students create scale models of microorganisms, compare their relative sizes, and find that microbes come in many different sizes and shapes.
Viruses have killed millions of people. But without a host, these microscopic parasites cannot reproduce or survive. As scientists discover the chemical rules by which each virus plays, they can begin to control how viruses affect us.
