Learn about the tools and equipment needed by elementary students to engage in hands-on inquiry science. This presentation was made originally for teachers in Houston, Texas, but most of the information is widely applicable.
A companion lesson, "Metric Madness," allows students to apply the skills of estimation and measurement as they rotate through six activity stations based on the metric system. The activity is best suited for students in grades K-5.
